....Escape to a highly individual place...if only to remind ourselves...what essentials really are....

AccommodationIntroducing Samuka Island, a unique and possibly one of Uganda's ultimate getaway destinations. The island bird sanctuary is only one and half hours away from Kampala, Uganda but a world away from the crowd. There are over 50 species of migratory and resident birds found on Samuka Island. The island is now one of two known breeding sites for long tailed comorants and little egrets in Uganda.

A gentle boat trip from Rumours at the Source of the River Nile will take you to the island that is 12 acres of unspoiled natural beauty with a bird sanctuary that offers peace, serenity, and tranquility not to mention the excellent cuisine and accommodation offered by our hospitable and personalized staff. Every effort is made to make your stay the perfect way to refresh the mind, body, and delight the senses."
